Under The
Children Act 1989 and the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice, you
have a right to be asked what you want. Social Services, schools, and the
Local Education Authority have to make sure your views are taken into
account. If you are in the care of the local authority, you have a right to
be told about what is happening to you and to be asked what you want. Under the
Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Special Educational Needs and
Disability Act 2001, you have a right to be treated as fairly as any child or
young person without a disability. You also have a right to be able to access
any service, such as Social Services, Education, Youth Services (youth
clubs), shops, leisure centres, etc. For legal
